NeoForet, The Second Joint Work of rePAPER and Moorim Paper

After concluding a supply contract of the environmentally friendly coating with rePAPER in 2019, Moorim Paper has been striving to develop recyclable and compostable coated paper and products. Followed by NeoStraw which has already been supplied to major café chains, they now released a new product, Neoforet, the environmentally friendly cupstock brand.

Moorim Paper also have the product certified for the OK Compost Industrial Compostable granted by TUV Austria, one of the well-known certification body in Europe. This is equivalent to the one rePAPER achieved from DIN CERTCO, the certification organization of the German Institution for Standardization.

In order to achieve the certificates, a product needs to be tested under various criteria including whether the composted product contain any heavy metals or release any toxic materials that can be harmful to the ecosystem. rePAPER, especially, proved that the products not only are compliant EN13432, but also meet AS4736 standard, the requirement for the eco-friendly products market in Australia.

Additionally, rePAPER’s aqueous dispersion coatings RP-series used for Neoforet is confirmed to be safe and harmless to foods and human body by being tested against strict and thorough standards of food contact material in the US, Europe or Japan.

The paper industry has been forced to seek for self-rescue plans facing the decrease in graphic paper since 2010. Paper mills either began to focus on developing technology for special paper with high added value or to consider a change the entire business structure. As the environmental issue has been globally arisen, some major paper manufacturers decided to stay ahead of the relevant market with environmentally friendly strategy.

Among them, Moorim succeeded in manufacturing the coated board with environmentally friendly coatings, RP-series, and started to supply recyclable and compostable products to the markets. The mass production at a paper mill indicates the availability to supply a competitive product to a secondary manufacturer and the broad application of environmentally friendly.

Moorim’s environmentally friendly coated board has already been supplied to convenience stores and major retailers as in various forms of food containers. rePAPER hopes to be able to cooperate with many more companies seeking for the environmentally friendly alternatives for plastic and to lead the sustainable cycle with functional yet environment-friendly paper product.
