rePAPER Validated World-Class Quality and Environment Management Systems with ISO Certificates!

rePAPER once again achieved new certificates, ISO 9001 for Quality Management System and ISO 14001 for Environment Management System! First of all, let’s find out what ISO is and how it works.

What is ISO?

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization. Since its foundation in 1947, ISO has developed international standards on products and services. Interestingly, the English abbreviation of the organization is not IOS, but ISO. As it is an independent international organization, they adopted the Greek word ‘isos’ which means ‘fair’ to demonstrate that it does not belong to a certain country or its language.

ISO is a non-governmental organization with members of 165 countries. While it does not have any legal force, it does have a huge influence in the world that most of the suggested standards from the organization have been institutionalized. Particularly, the Republic of Korea was honored to be a part of non-permanent members for ISO in 2019. As a non-permanent member can actively participate in a policymaking, it evidently shows that Korea is recognized for its cooperative effort on standardization work.

Find ISO standards in our daily life!

ISO standards are actually commonly used in our life. ISO referred a camera’s sensitivity is a short form of ISO 12232 when the paper sizes such as A3, A4, A5, B4, and B5 are based on ISO 216, the keyboard arrangement is set as ISO 9995. The codes of each country’s currency are also an example of ISO usage. Above these, ISO has established about 25,000 international standards so far.

Then, why do we need these standards? It’s because they help a product’s stable production with quality management and reduce the cost through an effective task system and strict data management. It also works as an index to trust the quality of a product or service when exported. Furthermore, ISO develops general management system standards, too.

rePAPER’s achievement, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

Among the two ISO certificates rePAPER achieved this time, ISO 9001 is a standard related to a quality management system that ensures the quality throughout the entire production process. About 150 countries introduced ISO 9001 to strengthen a company’s competence and global companies require their partners to own such certificates. Therefore, the certificate is considered to be essential for those who export their goods to a global market.

Meanwhile, ISO 14001 is related to Environment Management System. The certificate is granted for a company that complies with relevant environmental laws regulations and that comprehensively conducts environment management with proper policy, inspection and corrective measurement.

As a company leading the environment management through the environmentally friendly paper coating solution, this achievement surely proves that rePAPER works to mitigate environmental pollution problems as well as to enhance the environmentally friendly properties of a product and to prevent and minimize environmental accident. We also believe this aspect is expected to increase the trust between rePAPER and our global partners.

Through this achievement, rePAPER now owns certificates not only for the product’s environmentally friendly and barrier properties, but also for its management system. rePAPER won’t stop moving forward with innovative technology and Value management!
