Ending the Voyage of 2020


COVID-19 has rapidly spread around the world and it made everyone’s 2020 tough and left great regrets. However, the news about vaccines gave the world the hope that the upcoming year would be different. We, rePAPER, would like to take this time to look back the year and get fully ready for 2021.

1. Catch me if you can! rePAPER’s Advanced Technology – PTS, DIN Certificates, GB-Compliance, and Patents Added

As rePAPER has been setting the world-leading standards for environmentally friendly packaging, we took the year as well to prove our innovative technology. rePAPER’s coated paper, REPA COAT, is now proven to have 99.9% recyclability by PTS, and to become nutrients in soil without any special facilities by achieving DIN’s home compostable certificate. In December, we finally received a positive result that our product is compliant with GB standards in China as well. What’s more, the production methods of the environmentally friendly coatings and coated paper are now protected by the patent not only in Korea, the US, and the EU, but also in Japan and China. In Korea, especially, the patent to manufacture the coated board for straws is also added to the previous 5.


2. Harmful to Humans? Not in Our Case! 99.9% of Antibiosis, PFAS-&Microplastic-FREE!

The value of hygiene has been increased higher than ever and rePAPER’s products proudly reach 99.9.% of antibiosis! Moreover, they do include neither PFAS banned by the FDA for its hazard nor microplastics that may stay in the environment for ages.

Are paper straws all environmentally friendly? Unfortunately, the answer is NO! The straws are also lined with PE coating to have waterproof property. Yet, rePAPER’s coated board is both material and organic recyclable with heat-sealability that it solves all the problems the conventional products have. 4. Virus Won’t beat Us! rePAPER’s cheer for Daegu and GyeongBuk Areas!

Last March, more than 80% of the patients from the Corona Virus were in Daegu and Gyoengbuk area in Korea. To support the medical teams and volunteers who have been fighting for the disinfection and cure, rePAPER decided to give a hand with Nice Holdings group, delivering our sincerity and gratitude.

 

5. The path we walk together with hands in hands, ‘NeoForet’ the joint work with Moorim Paper

rePAPER has been developing eco-friendly products with Moorim Paper after concluding the supply contract of the coatings, RP-series, since 2019. As a result, Mooorim introduced Neoforet, the environmentally friendly paper cup that has been certified for the industrial compostable certificate by TUV Austria, one of the biggest testing institutions in the EU. With the partners, rePAPER started to apply our environment-friendly coated board with cost leadership for more various products in the market.

 

6. rePAPER’s Mascot, Naisu: Cup, launched at E-mart!

A small and the most common kind paper cup, 6.5oz. rePAPER named the size of the cup ‘Naisu:’ in the honor of the person who recognized rePAPER’s technology and its potential first and supported such a small company. Now, you can find this special cup, Naisu: with rePAPER’s environment-friendly technology applied at any Emart store in Korea!

 

7. Happy Birthday, rePAPER’s 6th Company Anniversary!

rePAPER had its 6th anniversary this year! There was a little ceremony held to celebrate this meaningful time while sharing memories of the past with great foods.

 

8. The efficiency goes up with work-life balance! rePAPER achieved the Family Friendly Enterprise Certificate!

rePAPER has a work-life supportive culture such as a ‘Family-loving Day’ to finish an hour early on Fridays and an event to invite the families. Now, we are officially granted for the certificate as the family-friendly company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in Korea.

 

We have experienced things that no one would have expected to happen now and we are taking this time to catch our breath and reorganize the work. Although many things planned got stopped or paused for a while, we believe that our continuous work and effort will make them move again soon. rePAPER hopes that the year of 2021 is to be fruitful for everyone who has been carrying their roles at their best.
